History:

WYZB hit the market in the mid-80's as a brand new station with adult contemporary music and quickly found itself at the top of the ratings. Later it drifted down towards oldies and then country -- driving WMMK 92.1 out of that format in the process. Originally a class A station, it upgraded to C3, though it and WNSP 105.5 in Bay Minette give each other a lot of interference.

 

As part of a nationwide marketing push, Cumulus flipped Country 105.5 to their Nash FM branding on 3 February 2014.

The station dropped the Nash branding in March 2023, changing to "Y 105.5" to coincide with the completion of a full studio, transmitter and antenna rebuild.
