History:
This station dates back to an original construction permit issued to North Alabama Community Broadcasters (Travis Allred and family) in November 2024, for a low power station on 100.7 MHz with 8 watts of effective radiated power (ERP). A month later it was assigned the WXKI-LP call sign, which had at one time been on 103.1 FM in Moulton (now WEUP) in the early 90's.

A license to cover was filed on 16 December 2025.  The station was reported to be planning a mix of Classic Country, MOR (Middle of the Road) and other educational programming including "the Cherokee word of the day".
