- History:
- This station was
created by the Bessemer City Schools to provide information and
services to the parents of students attending Bessemer City
Schools. The license to cover for this station was filed on 28
August 2014 but as of that time, it was unclear if the station was
actually on air or not. In addition to providing information and
educational opportunities for city students, the station is also said
to be airing Hip-Hop
music geared towards parents during non-school use dayparts. The
station received a construction permit in March of 2015 which will see
a decrease in power from 100 to just 12 watts, but with a bump in
height as the antenna moves from the City Schools building downtown to
the Holbrook Avenue water tower, which is partly up the side of
Ishkooda Mountain. The height will increase from just 50.5 feet
to 279 feet HAAT.
