(Damon Collins)
- History:
- This facility dates back
to an initial construction permit issued in December of 2013 to Damon
Collins, who also operates WLYB in Livingston. Originally a full
class A with 5 (later 6) kW from a cell tower off Norris Avenue
southwest of town, the permit struggled to get built out on time, so
the company was forced to modify the permit for just 300 watts from
the utility pole behind Frisco City's city hall building downtown.
That facility came on the air in mid-December 2016, playing Christmas
music as a temporary format, filing a license to cover on the same day
the permit was set to expire.
A few days after Christmas, the station debuted its regular format —
country — as "Rooster Country 92.5". The first song played was
"Unanswered Prayers" by Garth Brooks.
In February 2021 the station received a permit to increase power to
2.5 kW from the existing transmitter site. Owner Damon Collins
passed away 13 May 2021.
