History:
This station came on the air in the summer of 1968 by Redmont Broadcasting (Charles Cashion, Jr, president) and hasn't changed much of anything since.  It mostly likely had a country format from the beginning, and definitely had one by the mid-70's.  The station went dark for a period of time around 1997-1998 and when it came back on, it was under new ownership — Jimmy R. Pyle — and with some southern gospel sprinkled in with the country music.  Pyle owned the station up until 2001, when ownership passed to current owner Jack W. Ivy, Sr.  In March 2005 the station's license was not renewed in time and the license was deleted.  It was reinstated after a fine was paid and the station was fully licensed again by January, 2007.
In April 2016 the station acquired a nearby translator from the Iuka area and has applied to move it to 97.9 MHz to rebroadcast this station.
