History:

This station was spawned from sister station WVGG (AM), which got the construction permit first issued in August of 1990.  The station wasn't put on the air until December 1993, but eventually debuted with a 6 kW signal airing country music, same as the AM.  JDL Corporation acquired the stations in 1998 for $220,000. 

The format is satellite fed "Real Country", with an emphasis on country classics instead of today's country, along with local high school sports.  The station also hosts gospel music on Sundays.
