Owner:
Abercrombie Broadcasting Inc.

History:
This station was put on the air by Alvin Abercrombie, then-owner of 1310 AM in Priceville and Abercrombie Chevrolet.  When the station signed on in 1996, it had a classic country format.  Thanks to a good transmitter location on a mountain, this Addison-licensed station puts a decent signal into Huntsville. The station had, up until the fall of 2010, been very much concentrated on older country classics, from the 50's through the 70's, plus a healthy dose of bluegrass.  A re-imaging in more recent years has the station changing from "Classic Country" to "Big Country" with a wider swath of music and more targeting of the Huntsville market.

In mid-August 2026, it was announced that the estate of Alvin Abercrombie would be selling the station to SSR Communications (Matthew Wesolowski) for $180,000.  According to RadioInsight, Abercrombie Broadcasting will retain all intellectual property rights and the call sign.  A new call sign of WTNI (formerly on 1640 AM in Biloxi) will become effective on 27 September 2026. Wesolowski is known for his advocacy of a new C4 FM class, as well as ownership of stations in Mississippi and Utah.
