History:
This station dates back to a construction permit in 2008 won by Alabama Christian Radio.  They handed it off to Jimmy Jarrell Communications in 2009, who handed it back to Alabama Christian Radio in 2011.  Alabama Christian Radio, which is a black hole for radio stations, could not get the station on the air in time and handed it off to C.W. Johnson Educational Foundation.  The station's permit was for 2.5 kW with a directional antenna, resulting in a signal covering Jemison, Calera and Montevallo, as well as most of Columbiana and Clanton.  In order to get the station on air before the permit expired, the facility was changed to just 100 watts from an existing tower near Jemison.  The station debuted with a Contemporary Christian Music format with little to no talk and its license to cover came through in August 2012.

The station was granted a construction permit to upgrade to 500 watts (vertical only, and with a directional antenna) at a higher antenna height in mid-September 2018. A license to cover was filed in September 2021.
