Owner:
WKLF, LLC (Christopher W. Johnson)

History:
This is the second station to be licensed to the community of Maplesville on this frequency.  The first, WZNN, was put on the air in 2012 by Valleydale Broadcasting but was deleted by the FCC in 2017.

A construction permit was granted to WKLF, LLC (Christopher W. Johnson) in August 2022 for a new station on 106.3 MHz, licensed to Maplesville with 1.5 kW from a site near a fire department building at the intersection of CR-16 and US-82. The call sign WKYD was assigned in July 2025.  That call sign had a previous life on an AM station licensed to Andalusia that went off the air in 2009 to make way for another station's move that never happened.

In early August 2025, local Chilton County news reported that the station would launch with a Regional Mexican music format, along with some local high school football play by play in English.  The station was reported on air on 11 August 2025, simulcasting WALQ in Carrville. It's reported the station is being operated by Roscoe Miller's Autaugaville Radio via LMA.  A license to cover was filed on 11 August 2025, and it was granted on 22 August 2025.
