- History:
- 99.1 originated
in the 60's as WPMO FM, companion to Pascagoula daytimer WPMP AM
1580. After a stint as WPMO, it went on a tall tower. After becoming
a competitor along the entire coast and not just the cities for
which it was named (Pascagoula-Moss point-Ocean springs), the calls
were changed to WKNN (for K-99) in 1988. This station was often #1
in the market during the early part of the 21st Century.
