- History:
- This station
filed a license to cover on 18 April 2011, with an unknown
format. The owner, Centro Comunitario Juvenil Mahanaim, Inc.
(Youth Community Center Mahanaim, Inc.), also has a station in
Wilson, Louisiana, WJVI-FM. The station was first confirmed on
the air on 9 December 2011, with a Spanish language formats being
relayed from KRYN in Gresham, Oregon and KVAN in Kennewick,
Washington. The Spanish language content was short lived as
the station was reported off air again shortly thereafter due to
tornado damage. In March 2013 the license was transferred to
Divine Word Communications, who operate Catholic-oriented religious
stations along the Gulf Coast. They brought the station back
on air with EWTN Radio affiliation. The stations are expected to continue
offering English-language Catholic programming, including shows
hosted by EWTN. The license was finally transferred just after
Christmas of 2015.
