- History:
- Although the
original construction permit for this station wasn't granted until
1989, the university had been trying to get funding for a student
station as far back as the 1970s. The station signed on in
late August of 1991 with the WJAB call letters (for Jazz And
Blues.) The station filed a notice of digital service in
January of 2015 and is confirmed to be in HD, with a second channel
active but with no content.
