- Owned By:
- Word of God Fellowship,
Inc.
- History:
- This station signed on
in the winter of 1993, on channel 67 as W67CO, an affiliate of the
Word of God Fellowship's Daystar religious television network.
The station originally ran just 6.4 kW of effective radiated power,
and did not cover all of the immediate Huntsville area despite being
located atop Monte Santo Mountain. In 2001 they boosted power
north of 20 kW, and in 2003 received a permit to relocate to channel
46. In 2006 they applied for and received a permit to create a
digital channel, on RF channel 34, as part of the displacement low
power stations experienced with the switchover to digital
television. They started at 10 kW and shortly boosted power to
15 kW, covering much more of the Huntsville metro area than they did
as an analog broadcaster.
In early
2019 the station went silent after another low power digital TV
station took over their original digital RF channel (34). They
have been granted a displacement allocation on RF channel 35.
The station returned to the air on RF channel 34 on low power in late
December 2019.
The station was noted to have a scripture slideshow on the third
subchannel as of late 2022. It features instrumental music and static
nature background images.
