- Tri-State
Inspirational Broadcasting
- History:
- This station
dates back to an original construction permit issued in 1986 to
Tri-State Inspirational Broadcasting for a new noncommercial FM
station on 91.3 MHz, licensed to Florence. It was originally
assigned the WWOL call sign, but it appears it was discarded for
WBHL before signing on in 1998. The Broadcasting Yearbooks
of the era list the format as a mix of Classical and Religious
programming, or Beautiful Music mixed with Religious and Sports
programming. The station originally ran 30 kW from the same
transmitter site used today.
In May 2000, the Contemporary Christian music format of 93.9 WFIX
migrated to this station. In 2002 the station was granted a permit
to raise power to 100 kW along with a boost in antenna height, with
the requirement of a directional antenna system being used.
That facility signed on in the late summer of 2005.
The station was reported to have begun transmitting an RDS signal in
early 2023.
