- The second
station to come out of Auburn University after (now) WAPI-AM.
Signed on in 1971 as a class D station with 10 watts. See Wikipedia
for more complete history of this station. In July 2015 the
station received a construction permit to vacate their antenna site
atop the Haley Center next to the stadium, for a slightly higher
perch on the cell phone tower located at the Satellite Uplink Center
on West Stamford Road. That facility went on the air in early
November 2017.
