Association
- History:
- This station
signed on in May 1996 as a repeater for the Tupelo-based American
Family Association. Although it was listed as being fed
directly by AFR parent station WAFR in Tupelo, it appears to
actually be using the AFR Talk feed from WAQB in Tupelo. It
currently feeds two area translators, one in Harvest and one in
Priceville.
In early June 2014, the station received a construction permit to
change its broadcast facilities. The change dropped power from
7.4 kW in the vertical plane only to just 1.2 kW, but also allowed
an omnidirectional antenna in place of a directional one.
Antenna height would also be raised somewhat to compensate.
The change also relocates the antenna from a site northeast of
Florence to the heart of Muscle Shoals. That permit, however,
expired without ever being built out.
The station was noted to have RDS on the air in September 2022.
