History:
In August 2011, a construction permit for a new Class A FM station was issued to Joseph Wortley for a new station on 93.1 MHz, licensed to the community of Coosada in Elmore County, north of Montgomery.  The station was listed as running 3.1 kW at 464 feet HAAT (Height Above Average Terrain) from a site just west of I-65 near the Prattville Christian Academy school on Old Farm Lane Road.  The original call sign issued was WGMP (for GuMP, a slang name for Montgomery).  From the beginning, the station was planned to take on the News/Talk format that had previously been on 1170 WACV in Montgomery.  That format had first migrated to FM on 107.9 WMRK but would move here after this station's official sign-on.

Prior to signing on, the license was transferred to Kathleen Schaefer McQueen in May of 2012.  Ownership was later renamed to Liberty Acquisitions 825, LLC.

In early August 2012, the station swapped call signs with 1170, with this station becoming WACV and the AM taking the WGMP calls.  Of note that the AM had already been airing a music format as "The Gump" so the call sign was fitting.  This station was reported on air and testing around the 15th of August 2012, with an Oldies format.  A license to cover was filed with the FCC on 22 August 2012 and it's presumed that this was the time the test format of Oldies was dropped for the current News/Talk format.

From the beginning, the station was operated by Bluewater Broadcasting via a LMA (Local Marketing Agreement).

In early August 2025 it was announced that Bluewater Broadcasting would be purchasing the station from Liberty Acquisitions 825 LLC for $430,000.  The FCC approved the purchase and granted the license transfer in late September 2025.
