FM History Profile: WVUA

History:

This is the student run "training" station at the University of Alabama. It was originally WUAL-FM, but whne the full service NPR outlet on 91.5 came on the air, the called switched to WVUA. Shortly thereafter, the calls WUOA became available when that Tuscaloosa station on 95.7 changed calls. After much discussion between the communications department and the student "employees", it was decided to not change the calls, primarily because of WUOA's connotation as a softer station. The WUOA calls are still available.
