How's it sound?
The music is medicore at best. There's noticeable
sparkling in the highs but considering the 'background nature' of the format,
I don't think it will ever bother anyone.
History:
I don't know much about this station except
that it was a 100-watt Homewood only station playing various types of music
over the last few years, including jazz, light jazz, christian rock, freeform
and alternative rock. As of early October, the station now runs 500 watts
from a transmitter atop Shades Mountain in Vestavia Hills. They have employed
a directional antenna (to the south) to keep from interfering with WJSR,
the 100 watt campus station of Jefferson State Community College, in Pinson.
(They also use a directional antenna, towards Blount County.)
