102.9 was WRBL FM, stepchild
of WRBL AM 1420 and WRBL TV 3, playing easy listening albums to an audience
of 7 or 8 owners of FM radios back in the 60's. Later went to top 40 as
WNKS, "102 Kiss FM", through the late 70's and all of the 80's. In September
of 1989 it became WVRK and went to rock after being bought by LM Partners.
It was sold in 1997 to Cumulus along with Sunny, Magic and others. Now
Rooster and WDAK-AM are all Cumulus as well!
