Station History:

Signed on in the 50's as a channel 4 station, affiliated with WRBL AM and FM. At the time, Columbus' only other TV station was WTVM, on UHF channel 28. A few years later, in a game of musical chairs with WTVY in Dothan (then on channel 9), WRBL went from 4 to 3 and WTVY from 9 to 4. WTVM (the real beneficiary) went from 28 to 9. WRBL has always been a CBS affiliaate, though it had secondary affiliation when the market had only two stations. This ended with channel 38 came on the air.
