FM History Profile: WQLD

History:

This station started off as WMHS-FM (Montgomery's Heart and Soul) with a combination of gospel and urban oldies. The station went to oldies as Cool 104.3; the calls changed to WQLD.

Depending on how you look at it, the calls could either be a bastardized was of saying OLDies (QLDies), or they could possibly reference the Cool part (QL). Or maybe neither. Who knows.
