History:

This station was on the air in the 1940's as WMFT before becoming WOWL AM, from which WOWL TV 15 was spawned.

Currently the station is owned by Benny Carle, a well-known television personality from the late 50's-early 60's era of Birmingham TV (my father was on his show! -- Zach)
