AM History Profile: WACV

History:

1170 originated as WCOV (Capital's Oldest Voice), CBS affiliate heavy on the news and MoR music. WCOV TV 20 was spawned from this station. Later, TV and radio were sold seperately and it became WACV. Also evolved into a fully news-talk format. Most of the music was phased out with the advent of FM, but music still remains on weekends with a big band music show each Saturday and Sunday, hosted by longtime WCOV disc jockey George Landry.
