History:
The station received its construction permit in 2008, owned at the time by Old Time Gospel Ministries.  They later sold the station to Jimmy Jarrell's Alabama Christian Ministries for one dollar.  The station came on the air in December 2011.  Originally assigned the WTBT calls, they changed to WVPL in February 2012.  The FCC did not issue a license to cover for this station until May 2012.

In January 2020 the license expired and no renewal was filed, so in April 2020 the FCC deleted the station's license; it's unknown if the station is still on the air or not.
