Buzzard Roost Broadcasting Company

History:
This station dates back to 1960, signed on by Tri-County Broadcasters as WHHT, a 1 kW daytimer.  It later got an upgrade to 5 kW.  In 1968, the station was acquired by Allen Broadcasting, who changed the calls to WVGG.  Under Allen Broadcasting, the station ran Country music for years and years.  The AM spawned an FM in 1990, WRBE-FM.  The stations were sold to JDL Corporation in 1998 for $220,000, along with FM sister station WRBE.  JDL at the time also owned WPMO in Pascagoula.

From 2011 to 2016, the station aired a news/talk format as part of a simulcast with WPMO.  After that ended, the station went back to its long-time country format.

As of late March 2018, it appears the station has moved to a liner and jock-free Rock format, mixing classic rock and harder 80's rock.

In late April 2025 it was announced that the station and its FM companion were being sold to Michael Hearndon's Buzzard Roost Broadcasting for $250,000.  Radio Insight reported that Hearndon had been operating the stations via a time-brokerage agreement in January and had been also hosting the morning show on WRBE.
