History:
This station dates back to an original construction permit issued in February 2022 to the National Association for the Prevention of Starvation for a new noncommercial FM station on 90.5 MHz, licensed to Elkmont.  The original permit was for 67 kW at 253 feet HAAT (Height Above Average Terrain), with a highly directional antenna that featured a "squashed circle" pattern with lobes north and south. The transmit site was to be a cellular tower at the intersection of Goode Drive US-72 in the Clements community west of Athens.  The original call sign issued was WQGO.  In May 2022 an amendment to the construction permit was granted to lower the power to 5.5 kW, with a much less restrictive directional antenna pattern.

In March 2025 an agreement was reached between the licensee and Elijah Radio to swap this construction permit with one in Cuba, Alabama, southwest of Tuscaloosa.  In April 2025, Elijah Radio was granted a permit modification to relocate to the currently-licensed location, with 17.5 kW and a different directional antenna pattern.  A license to cover for that permit was filed in early May 2025, and the station is presumed to be on air with Elijah Radio's network programming, which is a Seventh Day Adventist Christian Talk format.
