History:
An original construction permit for this station was first granted in November of 2002.  The station filed a license to cover in June of 2003 and has been on the air ever since.  The format is a mixture of 50s-60s-70s music along with local high school and Auburn football.  In August 2016, station WLXA out of Tennessee put on the air an upgraded signal that targeted the Florence area, and due to being co-channel with this station, began causing interference to their signal.  The station quickly applied for a Special Temporary Authority to relocate to 97.9 MHz immediately; they concurrently filed an application to make that move permanent.  As LPFMs cannot file an STA to change frequencies, that application was dismissed, however the permit to permanently move to 97.9 was expedited and granted just a day later.  The station filed a license to cover for the new frequency in early January, 2016.
